This matrix maps 12 EDT user personas to the 13 enablement themes, showing how relevant each theme is for each role's daily work.
| Level | Meaning |

| P | Primary — Core daily workflow; needs hands-on proficiency |
| S | Supporting — Used regularly but not primary focus; working knowledge needed |
| A | Awareness — Should understand what it does; may view outputs but doesn't operate |
| Persona | Description |
|---|---|
| Digital Forensic Expert | Specialist in forensic acquisition, processing, and analysis of digital evidence. Maintains chain of custody, verifies data integrity through hash values, processes forensic images, and extracts metadata. Ensures evidence is handled in a forensically sound manner from ingestion through to production. |
| Processing Analyst | Technical operator responsible for ingesting data into EDT. Uploads source data, configures and executes imports, monitors job progress, triages processing failures, and manages the QA workflow to ensure data meets quality standards before handoff to review or analysis. |
| Data Analyst | Focuses on post-import data enrichment and quality preparation. Runs and verifies OCR, language detection, PII detection, named entity recognition, deduplication, and pattern recognition to transform raw imported data into a clean, review-ready data set. |
| Persona | Description |
|---|---|
| Legal Reviewer | Lawyer or legally qualified person who reviews documents for relevance, privilege, and responsiveness. Makes substantive coding decisions, applies redactions to protect sensitive material, and uses search to locate responsive records. |
| Prosecutor | Legal professional who prepares cases for prosecution and manages disclosure obligations. Reviews documents for disclosure relevance, manages participants and witnesses, produces compliant disclosure packages, redacts sensitive content, and builds case narratives for court. |
| Legal Privilege Expert | Legally qualified specialist who reviews documents exclusively for legal professional privilege (LPP), litigation privilege, and without-prejudice privilege. Identifies and classifies privileged content, manages quarantine folders, applies privilege redactions, and ensures export rules prevent inadvertent disclosure. |
| Paralegal | Supports the legal team across search, first-pass review coding, report generation, and production preparation. Works across many of the same features as Legal Reviewers and Prosecutors, but focuses on execution and support rather than making legally substantive decisions. |
| Persona | Description |
|---|---|
| Investigator | Builds case theories, follows leads across documents and communications, and maps relationships between people and events. Uses hypothesis-driven exploration — searching for evidence patterns, tracing communication networks, constructing chronologies, and assembling findings into presentable narratives. |
| Case Analyst | Uses EDT's analytics and AI/ML capabilities to perform early case assessment and surface insights that guide investigation and review strategy. Runs clustering, concept detection, sentiment analysis, communication mapping, and entity recognition to build a data-driven picture of the case. |
| Persona | Description |
|---|---|
| Case Manager | The operational hub of an EDT case. Sets up and configures cases, manages user access and permissions, coordinates between technical and legal teams, oversees review workflows, and produces reports to keep stakeholders informed. Hands-on involvement across nearly every area of the platform. |
| Manager | Senior oversight role requiring dashboards, case statistics, and reporting to maintain visibility across the portfolio. Does not operate the platform daily but needs to understand case health, team workload, and compliance posture at a glance. |
| Tribunal Member / Judge | Read-only decision-maker who views evidence, reads submissions, reviews chronologies, and examines exhibits during hearings or deliberations. Minimal platform interaction — consumes rather than configures or operates. |
